Reducing Carbon Footprint:
Turtuguero beach is part of a national park. Some of the park land is leased to private owners for tourism and lodging. Private owners generally clean area around their lodges but rest of the beach has lots of garbage and plastic. Most of the plastic or garbage is either from waste dumped by big ships in the ocean or washed away from Carribian islands. Following few other people (tourists), my wife and I also used our spare time to collect plastic and clean the beach as much as possible. A small effort to reduce our carbon footprint.
